Minister of Justice Maja Popovic spoke today with Director-General of the Directorate-General for Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Christophe Poirel about the preparation of a new set of judiciary laws and the dynamics of envisaged activities so that the legal solutions could be adopted in line with the deadline prescribed by the Constitutional Law.

Expressing gratitude on the support which the Council of Europe gives to Serbia, Popovic underlined that the Ministry of Justice carries out the above-mentioned process in a transparent and inclusive way.
The Minister of Justice highlighted the importance of coordination of activities with the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission, with whom excellent cooperation has been established in work to date, and whose visit is expected in September this year.
She stated that Serbia efficiently implements judgements of the European Court of Human Rights, which the Committee of Ministers closed, and pointed to the examples of good practice in the execution of these judgements.
