At a reception in the Serbian parliament organised by its speaker Predrag Markovic on the occasion of the end of the autumn session, Kostunica said that these laws are almost completely in line with European standards, which is a huge success of the Serbian government and parliament.
After he was presented with the Serbian parliament badge with state symbols, Kostunica said that he accepts the medal with great satisfaction and recalled that he was a member of parliament for seven years.
Markovic said that the newly-passed laws will help Serbia move closer to the EU, and voiced hope that the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund will be concluded in January 2006.
He pointed out that these laws are a good basis for solving other issues, such as Serbia's relations with Montenegro and the status of Kosovo-Metohija.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Draskovic, as well as other ministers and parliament members also attended the reception at the Serbian parliament.
