Mihajlovic, together with Bulgarian Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov, attended the signing of a contract between "Bulgartransgaz" and "DZZD International Gas" in Sofia on the design, delivery of necessary materials and equipment, construction and commissioning of the interconnection on the Bulgarian territory.
Building an interconnection with Bulgaria is the most important project for us. The works on our side started in January, today a contract was signed for the works on the Bulgarian side, which will speed up the process of building the interconnection and it is certain that everything will be completed by September next year. Then we will get the opportunity to obtain gas from LNG terminals in Greece or Azerbaijan, said Mihajlovic.
The Deputy Prime Minister participated in a meeting of energy ministers "Southeast Energy Transition - Regional Cooperation for Energy Security, Diversification and Transition" in Sofia, together with the ministers of energy of Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as with representatives of the European Commission and the Energy Community.
I talked with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Energy about the free capacities for us in the Turkish Stream, as well as with the Azerbaijani Minister about the supply of gas from that country, but also about the development of new technologies, especially when it comes to hydrogen. At the meeting, we discussed filling the warehouses before the beginning of the winter season and accelerating the decarbonisation of the energy sector, as well as the need for joint reaction in case of additional disturbances, cooperation and solidarity, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined.
