Mihajlovic pointed out that in the past few years, important steps have been taken in improving economic cooperation between Serbia and the United States, such as the construction of the Morava Corridor, the first project in which the main contractor is an American company.
As she pointed out, Serbia is in the initial phase of the energy transition, and we need new capacities, primarily in the electricity sector.
According to her, the priorities are investments in new capacities, increasing energy efficiency and diversification in the gas sector.
Today, Serbia is a politically and financially stable country, open to investments and committed to dialogue, economic connections and cooperation, said Mihajlovic and assessed that there is room for engaging companies from the United States in implementing new projects.
She expressed her belief that it would be of great benefit for future cooperation with the United States to have a strategic partnership agreement, which would create a framework for further improvement of relations and realization of joint projects.
Hill said that the United States wants to deepen relations with Serbia at all levels – political, economic and energy, and to continue working more intensively to improve cooperation.
