The topics of today's meeting were Serbia-Montenegro's road towards European integrations, relations with the state union and resolution of the Kosovo-Metohija issue.
Kostunica said that Belgrade and Brussels fully agree on the issue of a possible referendum in Montenegro, which must be organised in line with all European standards, with full cooperation of Podgorica and Brussels.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that in the solution to the Kosovo-Metohija problem, the basic principle of international law must be respected, that being the inviolability of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. He pointed out that Serbia is ready to respect the right of ethnic Albanians to realise the highest level of autonomy in the province.
He warned that one-sidedness and imposition are not and cannot be a solution, but can only lead to further aggravation of the problem and make it bigger and longer-lasting.
According to him, the countries in the region voiced full support for respect of international law, inviolability of borders and preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
Kostunica especially stressed that standards in the province must be achieved and human rights respected. He pointed out that in the past several days we have been witnesses to serious violent attacks against Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
Pack said that the situation in Kosovo-Metohija is not stable, and said that a solution that will acceptable for both sides should be sought through dialogue.
