Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojsa Stefanovic met today with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France, General Francois Lecoantre.
Stefanovic expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence.
He also assessed that the participation of the troops of the French 68th Artillery Regiment in the "Platinum Wolf" exercise with members of the Serbian Army is one of the important steps in intensifying cooperation in this area.
The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out that the realisation of the projects launched and those planned in the field of military-economic and military-technical cooperation will significantly contribute to the equipment and modernisation of the Serbian Army.
General Lecoantre stated that the security situation in the world imposes the need for more significant engagement in multinational UN and EU operations, and pointed out that the two armies can expand cooperation in that domain through joint engagement.
