Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojkovic met today with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Montenegro Vesna Bratic, who is on an official visit to our country.
Gojkovic and Bratic pointed out that today's visit opened a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture, while expressing readiness to improve cooperation in this field, as an important segment of overall relations.
The officials agreed that the first step in strengthening cooperation would be to work on a new agreement on cooperation in the field of culture, which would cover all areas of common interest, as well as defining programmes, which will be the basis for strengthening relations.
It was pointed out at the meeting that more intensive cooperation between cultural institutions is necessary, such as the National Theatre in Belgrade and the Montenegrin National Theatre.
Gojkovic and Bratic also talked about cooperation in the field of protection of cultural heritage, as well as the possibility of exchanging professional knowledge in the field of restoration and conservation, as well as in other fields of importance for both countries.
They also discussed the possibility of creating joint projects, which would connect the field of culture and tourism, as well as cooperation in regional projects and programs in the field of cultural heritage, digitalisation, contemporary art and creative industries.
