Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality Zorana Mihajlovic attended today the final event of the project "Socio-economic affirmation of women in a pandemic".
On that occasion, Mihajlovic handed over certificates for 25 women who passed trainings for work training and making handicrafts.
She pointed out that it was not easy to launch the project "Let's employ 1,000 women in rural areas", that 766 of them have been employed so far, and that the coronavirus pandemic has affected not only the economy, but also the lives of women and entire families. violence against women.
According to her, the economic empowerment of women is the right path for the well-being of women, families and society as a whole, and one of the key factors in the fight against violence against women is their economic empowerment.
The event at the Palace of Serbia was also attended by Ambassadors of Israel and Belgium to Serbia, Yahel Vilan and Koenraad Adam, as well as Deputy Ambassador of Canada Brian Ebel.
Adam expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for her commitment and continuous support to the "Ethno Network" and to the women on the way to improving their position in society.
