After the session which was also attended by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Brnabic said that she will present the report on the first 100 days of work of the government to the citizens on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said that at today's session, the President of the Republic was asked to inform the members of the government about everything that happened regarding the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, what he expects and how the government can help and support everything he does.
According to her, Vucic informed the members of the government about his visit to France and the talks he had with the President of that country, Emmanuel Macron.
We talked about all the foreign policy challenges that are ahead of us, as well as about an important topic, which is one of the priorities, and that is the fight against crime, as well as about all the actions of the police during the past night, she said.
The Prime Minister pointed out that attention was paid to the position of Serbia, which is incredible in every sense.
We are the best in Europe in terms of economy, and today we are the second, and according to some indicators, the first in terms of vaccination, and we talked about how to keep that position and continue to make progress, Brnabic said.
The Prime Minister stated that GDP growth of six percent above zero is expected this year, but that we must work "day and night" to achieve that and expressed gratitude to President Vucic for his unreserved support to the government and all its members, as well as for constantly pointing to things that can be done better, faster and more efficiently.
The Prime Minister stated that at today's session, the government adopted the Decision on allocating RSD 3 billion for the treatment of patients with rare diseases in 2021, which is a record amount.
The President of Serbia underlined that Serbia must be the best and that the focus is on people's living standards and a better future for our children.
He assessed that it is good that we have a large surplus of RSD 13.5 billion, although a deficit of RSD 12.5 billion was predicted.
Vucic said that it is necessary to spend that money, pointing to the fact that 43 percent less executions was recorded than planned.
He pointed out that without a high growth rate, we cannot, among other things, help our economy, build hospitals, invest in energy efficiency and build a complete sewage structure.
At the same time, the President praised the action of the Ministry of the Interior and the Security and Intelligence Agency, in which an organised criminal group suspected of several serious crimes was arrested, assessing that it represents a big blow to the mafia and organised crime.
According to him, this action is a continuation of what was announced earlier, and that is the decisive fight of the state against the mafia and organised crime.
Vucic praised all those who participated in that action and noted that it was not an easy task for them, because they put at risk their safety and the safety of their families, for the safety of the citizens of Serbia.
He also expressed the expectation that we will receive the first vaccines from the EU COVAX programme in late March or early April, and that together with additional contracts on Chinese and Russian vaccines that should be signed today or tomorrow, Serbia will have signed agreements for a total 11.5 to 12 million vaccines.
