Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlović visited today works on the construction of the Sremska Rača-Kuzmin motorway, a section of the bridge over Sava.
Mihajlović toured the construction site together with Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia-Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović and Minister of Transport and Connections of Republika Srpska Đorđe Popović, and Turkish Minister to Serbia Tanju Bilgiç was also present.
Mihajlović underlined that this is not just a construction of a motorway and a bridge, but also of integrated border crossings that will enable faster movement of people and goods, lower transport costs and shorter waiting times at borders.
She stated that Serbia participates with €13 billion in the infrastructure projects that connect us with the region, whether it is with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Hungary, Macedonia or Albania.
For this specific motorway and bridge, we have set aside €220 million and I believe the bridge will be finished in two years, as promised by the contractor, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia said.
In addition to this section, we will get connected with Bosnia-Herzegovina through the Požega-Kotroman motorway, where we will also have a border crossing. It is estimated that integrated border crossings at Bratoljub, this bridge and Kotroman will decrease transport costs by 25 percent, she explained.
