Positive dynamics of development of bilateral relations with Canada

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today on a farewell visit the Ambassador of Canada Kati Chaba, who will soon end her duty in the Republic of Serbia.

On that occasion, Dacic expressed gratitude to Ambassador Chaba for her personal contribution to the intensification of the political dialogue and cooperation between Serbia and Canada, emphasising that during her mandate, cooperation, especially in the economic field, was raised to a higher level.

It was jointly assessed that there is a positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations in recent years, and readiness for revitalization of high-level political dialogue and readiness for further development of partnership relations was expressed.

It was assessed in the conversation that the relations between the two countries are constantly rising, but also that there is still room for strengthening the mutual dialogue, exchange of visits at all levels and connecting the economies of the two countries.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the fact that the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic is improving in both countries and that the number of patients is decreasing every day, which enables the gradual normalization of life and the abolition of restrictive measures introduced during the pandemic.

Chaba once again thanked Dacic for his wholehearted help with the repatriation of Canadian citizens during the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.

The Ambassador of Canada pointed out that she has very fond memories from the Republic of Serbia and that she is satisfied with the implementation of several important, primarily cultural projects.
