First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, who is on a three-day visit to China, met today in Beijing with State Councillor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi.
Dacic said that his visit is a confirmation of the extraordinary strategic relations and steel friendship of the two countries, but also an indication of the solidarity and full confidence that Serbia has in China's ability to combat this "demonic disease", as Chinese President Xi Jinping called coronavirus.
The First Deputy Prime Minister stated that he is following with admiration the superhuman efforts and measures that are unprecedented worldwide at preventing the spread of the virus not only in China, but beyond its borders too, which the whole world should look at with deep respect.
He underlined that Serbia, according to its capabilities, will send assistance to China in medical equipment. The Serbian government has already made a decision on this and the aid will be sent in the coming weeks.
We have many joint bilateral activities, Chinese companies are very much present in Serbia, which is of great importance for our development. Serbia is one of the few countries that has the privilege of having a visa waiver agreement with China, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
Dacic expressed gratitude to China for its principled support to Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity when it comes to resolving the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
