First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that dissemination of information in the diaspora and among Serbs in the region is a vital segment of cooperation between the mother country and the diaspora, that is, the mother country and the Serbs in the region.

Dacic said at the Ninth Conference of Journalists and the Media of the Diaspora and the Serbs in the Region that the mechanisms of cooperation and support for the diaspora and the Serbian people in the region are aimed primarily at preserving cultural and linguistic identity.
He added that in the previous period, the government has paid special attention to the scientific diaspora, whereby the adoption of a completely new programme of cooperation between Serbian science and the diaspora of the Science Foundation of Serbia is a result of the need to adapt and improve the existing mechanisms of cooperation to the new highly educated expatriates.
Serbia needs courageous and brave people because we are too small to give up easily on quality human resources that are irreplaceable and irrecoverable, Dacic stated.
