First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali said in Belgrade today that there is a high degree of understanding between the two countries.
Dacic said at a joint news conference with Gyawali that the two countries have a long tradition of relations and stressed that Nepal is firmly supportive of Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the need to intensify contacts between the two countries in order to develop cooperation in all fields, noting that Serbia will open an honorary consulate in Nepal to this end, and Nepal is expected to do so in our country.
According to him, Nepal achieved seven percent economic growth last year, which is why it is important to intensify the economic cooperation between the two countries.
Gyawali emphasised that there is a high degree of understanding between the two countries, and recalled that Nepal supports Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and that the country's foreign policy rests on the fundamental principles of the United Nations.
He highlighted the need to improve bilateral relations, noting that he is positively surprised by Serbia's achievements in sports, agriculture, technology and music.
