First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic attended a traditional informal dinner for Western Balkan leaders hosted by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in New York.
During the dinner, organised on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dacic stressed that full EU membership is a key foreign policy priority for Serbia and added that our country and the region rightfully belong in the Union.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that Serbia is committed to peace and stability in the region and that regional stability is also one of the foreign policy priorities to which our country is committed.
According to him, strict adherence to the concluded and agreed frameworks of regional cooperation by all participants in the region, without exception, is a prerequisite for successful realisation and improvement of regional cooperation.
He underlined that Serbia is committed to dialogue with Pristina and to finding a compromise solution, and expressed his expectation that the next High Representative of the EU will continue to contribute more decisively to this process in order to reach solutions acceptable to all parties, while insisting on fulfilling the commitments assumed.
