Further intensification of economic cooperation between Serbia, Spain

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Serbia Raul Bartolome Molina today assessed that the bilateral relations of the two countries are excellent and characterised by intense political dialogue.

The officials pointed out that, however, additional efforts should be made to intensify economic cooperation, and as a good step in that direction, the establishment of direct flights between Belgrade-Madrid and Belgrade-Barcelona and the holding of an economic forum in Madrid in September were announced.

Dacic stressed that Serbia highly appreciates Spain's principled position regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.

He stressed that Serbia will have the same attitudes in the future, when it comes to the sovereignty of Spain, and expressed hope that after the establishment of the Spanish government, the visit of the prime minister of that country to Belgrade will be carried out.

Molina reiterated Spain's firm position regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

He confirmed that Spain will continue to support Serbia's position and attitudes in international organisations, and will also provide support to Serbia in the process of Eurointegration.
