A delegation of the Serbian Ministry of Finance, led by Minister Sinisa Mali, met today with a Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is on a visit to Serbia until 21 May.
On this occasion, Mali informed the new Head of the IMF Mission, Jan Kees Martijn, about the fiscal result that was achieved in the first four months of this year, and with a surplus in the state budget which amounts to RSD 5.5 billion.
He pointed out that the projection of GDP growth for this year remains 3.5 percent, and that in the first quarter, the construction sector recorded the most significant growth in comparison with the previous year.
Serbia and the IMF, following the successful completion of the three-year stand-by arrangement, entered into a new arrangement, the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI) in July last year, which is a non-financial arrangement, has an advisory role and is primarily oriented towards the implementation of structural reforms.
