Centralisation of the most important state IT systems is enabled owing to the state-of-the-art IT system - the State Oracle Cloud, which represents a modern and secure platform for the development of public administration as an efficient citizen service, as well as the economy.
Thanks to this, Serbia has become the first country in Central and Eastern Europe and the second in Europe, after the UK, to establish the State Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
The first State agreement with Oracle Corporation provided the best prices, compared to previous individual procurements, for all state authorities using this IT solution, which resulted in significant savings in the budget.
By introducing the State Oracle Cloud Centre and its exploitation in the coming period, additional benefits will be gained through the reduction of maintenance, management and data migration costs.
Some of the State Oracle Cloud System applications is the establishment of a central information system of 145 local tax administrations, the optimisation and reform of IT management system within the Ministry of Finance - Treasury Administration, Tax Administration, Anti-Money Laundering Administration and the Central Registry of Compulsory Social Insurance, as well as the reform of procedures for the registration in the Real Estate Cadastre and Cadastre of Underground Installations, through the introduction of eCadastre.
"Creating a State Oracle Cloud allows for full privacy of citizens' data, since no data can leave the State Data Centre of the Office for IT and eGovernment. With this investment, the state has received a system that can be managed more easily and which guarantees security.
Centralisation also resulted in savings in the budget of about €2 million for the use of IT infrastructure - hardware, licenses and services“, said Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment.
"It is well known that domestic IT experts are highly valued all over the world, and we consider that, with these specific actions, the Serbian government has shown a clear initiative and has made concrete steps towards digitisation and standardisation of the state administration system. By choosing the latest, world-renowned technologies, the Office for IT and eGovernment shall take a leading position in the region, its rightful place, that will allow our IT professionals to work on the state-of-the-art systems, which will thus enable the state to provide better conditions for all of its citizens in the long run, and at the same time reduce the experts outflow", said Vladimir Knezevic, Managing Director of Oracle Serbia & Montenegro.
