Dacic said at the 128th Council of Europe meeting in Elsinore in Denmark that Serbia is firmly committed to working with the Council of Europe.
As he emphasised, Serbia attaches great importance to the protection and promotion of freedom of expression and media freedom, which play a key role in democratic processes.
We also attach great importance to the freedom of assembly and association, which are guaranteed by the Constitution and relevant laws. In the past period in our country, considerable attention has been paid to enabling greater involvement of civil society organizations in the decision-making process at all levels, he said.
He expressed the expectation that the Council will react appropriately to the brutal assault on the Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric on 26 March this year, who was subjected to torture and degrading treatment by the police in Kosovska Mitrovica.
