First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, who, as a member of the delegation of the President of that country, Nicos Anastasiades, is visiting Serbia.

Dacic and Hristodulidis assessed that the bilateral relations of the two countries are based on a firm friendship and historically confirmed closeness and solidarity of the two nations.
Also, there is a clear understanding and mutual support of the two countries in the protection of national interests, and above all, the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Cyprus.
Christodoulides stressed that Cyprus provides strong full support to the process of European integration of Serbia, which it sees as the next member of the European Union.
He sent a call to Dacic to visit Cyprus soon, with the aim of preparing another joint session of the two governments, chaired by the presidents Nikos Anastasiadis and Aleksandar Vucic, whose maintenance is planned by the end of this year in Cyprus.
During the meeting, agreement was reached on the intensification of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries on all issues of common interest, which will soon be coordinated and signed a consultations plan, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
