Readiness for intensification of political dialogue with India

Belgrade/ New Delhi, 3 May 2018

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations and understanding of the two countries today, especially in the year when 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations is being marked.

The two officials expressed mutual readiness to intensify bilateral political dialogue at the high and highest level, as well as to enhance cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially economic ones.

The fields in which there is room for improvement of cooperation are car industry, tractor, agricultural food industry, IT industry, health and pharmaceuticals, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, film, tourism and sports.

Dacic invited Sushma Swaraj to visit our country, which she gladly accepted.

The two officials expressed mutual satisfaction with the signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the fields of culture, art, youth, sports and mass media.

On this occasion, Dacic conveyed the gratitude of the government of Serbia and the people for the support of India to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, with the belief that India will continue to maintain this position in the future.
