Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic stated today that Serbia has improved the policy of fight against terrorism and that it acts consistently and responsibly regarding the implementation of UN resolutions that deal with the fight against terrorism.
Speaking on the subject "Evolution of Strategy and Tactics of International Terrorist Organisations", at a meeting of high representatives on security issues in Sochi, Stefanovic emphasised that terrorism has become more raw, and terrorist attacks far more violent, and that terrorists have built financial networks that make them self-sustainable .
The Deputy Prime Minister made a special reference to the region of the Western Balkans, which represents a significant place for recruiting members and supporters of the Islamic state fighting in Syria and Iraq.
According to Stefanovic, our country recognises several security risks related to terrorism, primarily the problem of Islamic state fighters from Serbia, who are currently in Syria and Iraq, or have returned home.
