In his speech on the occasion of 100 years since the alliance between Serbs and Jews and Serbs and Americans in the First World War, Dacic pointed out that Serbia has always supported and understood the Jewish people, who unselfishly laid down their lives for the freedom of the Serbian people in the First and Second Balkan Wars and in the First and Second World Wars.
Serbia was the first country to back the Balfour Declaration of 1917, recognising it as the first step towards recognition of the state of Israel, he stressed, adding that Serbia understands Israel since even today we are facing serious challenges. Kosovo- Metohija is a Serbian Jerusalem.
Dacic recalled that US President Woodrow Wilson was a great friend of the Serbian people, stressing that he personally launched an initiative to raise the monument to Wilson in Belgrade.
