During this event, a separate meeting of the two ministers was also held, where they spoke about possible directions of the development of bilateral cooperation, and exchanged opinions on the situation in the region and the world.
Both sides concluded that the opening of the border crossing will give an additional boost to relations of the Serbian and Hungarian economies and citizens.
Dacic emphasised that today's event shows the vision and determination of Serbia and Hungary to work together in the interests of citizens, assessing that the bilateral relations of the two countries reached a historic peak.
He underlined that national minorities represent a precious bond as they left a lasting stamp on the spiritual and cultural identity of the two countries.
In particular, I would like to express my gratitude for the continued and strong support that Hungary provides Serbia in the realisation of the strategic foreign policy priority of the Republic of Serbia - membership in the European Union, Dacic pointed out.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted that our commitment to a sincere and constructive dialogue with provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina, with the mediation of the EU, unfortunately does not produce the expected results.
Serbia joined the dialogue in Brussels honestly and without a "hidden agenda," while Pristina, with well-conceived provocations and obstructions, obviously backed by some foreign powers, prolongs the execution of its part of the Brussels Agreement, renders the dialogue meaningless and thus directly threatens the stability of the region, Dacic warned.
