Mihajlovic presented the results that Serbia has achieved in the field of gender equality in the last four years.
As she recalled, Serbia established the Gender Equality Coordination Body, at the level of the Deputy Prime Minister and adopted the National Strategy for Gender Equality from 2016 to 2020 and the Action Plan for its implementation.
Serbia also adopted the Law on the prevention of domestic violence, prepared the Draft of the new gender equality act, which will place Serbia among the ranks of modern, developed countries.
In addition, Serbia is the only country outside the European Union that has created the Gender Equality Index, Mihajlovic said.
She added that she is especially proud of the introduction of gender-responsive budgeting, for which the UN also praised Serbia, stressing that the budgets for 2017 and 2018 are gender-responsive.
