First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke today with Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See Paul Gallagher about bilateral relations and future cooperation.

During the talks both sides confirmed the importance of bilateral relations and cooperation, and expressed readiness for their further intensification, through the exchange of visits at high level and the establishment of a mechanism for regular political consultations.
Gallagher conveyed the special interest of the Holy See for cooperation with the Republic of Serbia in the field of protection of the Christian heritage in Kosovo-Metohija.
Dacic thanked his interlocutor for the principle position of the Holy See regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo and invited him to visit Serbia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
