First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received Tufik Zaber on a farewell visit as Ambassador of Lebanon to Belgrade, and on this occasion thanked the Ambassador for his engagement and contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
In the conversation, the traditionally good bilateral relations of the two countries were noted and officials expressed mutual interest for their further improvement, especially on the economic plane.
They pointed out to the significance of the intensification of political dialogue at the highest level in the forthcoming period.
In particular, Dacic expressed his gratitude on the principled position of the Lebanese Republic in respect of the non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, and expressed the expectation that the country's support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia will continue.
Serbia will continue to provide an active contribution to the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon through the engagement of members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
