First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received Minister of Defence and Military Veterans of the South African Republic Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
The two officials agreed that there is a high level of bilateral relations and the readiness for their further strengthening, which date back to the anti-colonial struggle and the Non-Aligned Movement.
They also expressed interest in exchanging visits at high and the highest level, as well as interest in cooperation in many fields.
The two sides agreed that it is necessary to improve the contractual regulation in all areas for which there is a common interest, and in particular regarding the relaxation of the visa regime.
Opinions on regional issues and the need for joint participation on the multilateral plan and cooperation within international organisations were exchanged.
The First Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the gratitude of the Republic of Serbia for the firm position of the South African Republic regarding the respect for international law and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia in relation to Kosovo-Metohija, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
