At a meeting held in Washington last night, it was stressed that the United States is committed to preserving the stability and progress of all countries in the region, and willingness was expressed to intensify cooperation.
After the reception, Dacic pointed out that the goal of the meeting was to send a message that the United States wants stability in the region and that they want the progress of all in the Western Balkans region.
He said that he insisted at the meeting that there can be no stability in the region if the United States does not find a common interest with the biggest country and the biggest nation in the Western Balkans, which is Serbia and the Serbian people.
He added that we need to seek minimum common interests in order to contribute to the stability of the whole region.
The First Deputy Prime Minister met yesterday, on the second day of his stay in Washington, with Ron Johnson, US Senator from Wisconsin, who is also Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and of the Subcommittee on European and Regional Security Cooperation.
Dacic and Senator Johnson exchanged opinions on the current political dialogue and agreed to continue to improve bilateral relations.
