Mihajlovic said that, with the completion of current projects in road and rail transport, the priority of the government of Serbia in the field of infrastructure is the removal of non-physical barriers, which is an important part of the "Agenda of Connectivity" implemented by the countries of the Western Balkans with the support of the European Union.
Serbia has started the process of building joint border crossings or amending the agreements with all neighbouring countries, in order to shorten the waiting time of goods at borders and make the entire region more attractive for investments. This is particularly true for the railways, where Serbia and Bulgaria have signed an agreement that foresees the functioning of the joint border crossing point in Dimitrovgrad, Mihajlovic said.
She added that also encouraging are data on the increase in trade between the two countries, which is also contributed by the accelerated modernisation of infrastructure in Serbia.
Vlaykov said that the political relations of the two countries are on the rise and that this needs should be used for even better economic cooperation and connecting businessmen of Serbia and Bulgaria, among other things through the joint organisation of business forums, according to a statement by the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
