Support to Serbia to become full member of Francophonie

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke today with Director for Programmes and Strategic Development of the International Organisation of Francophonie (OIF) Nita Deerpalsing and Director of the Regional Office for the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe of this organisation Renet Jotov.

Serbia's ten-year cooperation with the International Organisation of Francophonie was positively assessed, both in the political, education, culture and science fields.
Also, there is a mutual readiness to institutionalise ties in the function of Serbia's future membership in this organisation.
Representatives of Francophonie conveyed their full support and readiness to help Serbia become a full member and actively engage in the work and programmes of the organization, both in the key bodies of the OIF, as well as in regional and other programmes and activities in the international field.
They also transferred messages of gratitude to Minister Dacic from Secretary General of the International Francophonie Michaelle Jean for his participation in the Madagascar Summit in 2016.
The First Deputy Prime Minister invited the Secretary General of Francophonie to visit Serbia in the coming period.
