In a statement to Tanjug, Dacic said that during the meeting, they also discussed international organisations, especially the United Nations Security Council, to which Italy will be holding the chair next month.
The First Deputy Prime Minister stressed that this issue is very important for our country, because an unprincipled attempt is being made to change the format of the UN Security Council session on Kosovo-Metohija.
According to Dacic, it is important for Serbia that all the problems that exist in its southern province, while Resolution 1244 and the UN Mission in Kosovo are in place, is regularly discussed at the Security Council sessions, and as foreseen by that resolution.
Some Western countries are trying to change the format of holding these sessions, so that only closed sessions within the Security Council are held, or that they not be every three months, Dacic said.
That is why it is extremely important for us to have an understanding of Italy as the chair, he said.
Dacic participated at the OSCE Mediterranean Conference in Palermo, whose main topics were the migrant and refugee flows across the Mediterranean and the security challenges they face.
Participants in this meeting also discussed the possibilities of finding a common approach to this problem.
On this occasion, Dacic pointed out that Serbia was very prepared for this problem.
He said that 900,000 migrants had passed through our country, without any incident recorded, adding that the Balkan route was closed, but that several thousand migrants are stay in our country.
Serbia is the country with the largest number of registered refugees and internally displaced persons in Europe, with the total number of internally displaced persons from Kosovo-Metohija in the past 18 years since the international community is present in Kosovo, only 1.9% returned to their homes.
