First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will participate at the OSCE Mediterranean Conference, the most important gathering within the Italian Chairmanship of the Contact Group for Cooperation with Mediterranean Partners, to be held in Palermo on 23-25 October.
The main theme of this year's conference will be the flows of migrants and refugees across the Mediterranean and the security challenges they bring.
In this sense, Dacic's participation has a special significance for our country, bearing in mind the commitment of the government of the Republic of Serbia in overcoming the challenges of the refugee-migrant crisis.
The First Deputy Prime Minister will participate in a plenary session of the OSCE Mediterranean Conference, a high-level political segment, to be opened by Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano and OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger.
This year's Mediterranean Conference in Palermo is also an opportunity for the realisation of numerous bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the meeting, and Dacic will speak with the ministers of foreign affairs of Italy and Malta and with the interior minister of San Marino, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
