Excellent political relations between Serbia, Spain

First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met today in Zaragoza with a representative of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain in the Autonomous Region of Aragon, Gustav Alcalde Sanchez.

On that occasion, Dacic expressed his gratitude to the government and the people of Spain for their strong support to Serbia in the protection of it territorial integrity and the principles of international law.

He stressed the importance of mutual support in the international arena, and underlined the importance of Spain's support to European integration of Serbia.

The officials pointed to the importance of opening the Honorary Consulate of Serbia in Zaragoza, and expressed expectations that excellent mutual political relations will result in improved economic cooperation.

Dacic briefed Sanchez on the current political processes in Serbia, as well as the course of reforms, while the representative of Spain underlined the importance of respecting constitutional order, law and international law in the light of events in the Autonomous Region of Catalonia.

Sanchez, expressing his gratitude for the visit of Dacic, said that the institutions of Aragon would provide all necessary support to the Consulate of Serbia in Saragosa, led by Honorary Consul Juan Carlos Trillo Baigorri, in order to better cooperate in all areas of mutual interest.
