Continuation of cooperation with Interpol in fight against crime

Belgrade/Beijing, 26 September 2017

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic announced today that Serbia will continue to cooperate with all countries of the world in the intense efforts to defeat terrorism, organised crime and every form endangering the safety of citizens.

After the end of the General Assembly of Interpol in Beijing, Stefanovic said that only together we can win this kind of danger and that there is no country that is strong enough to do it alone, which, as he added, was also the message sent by the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, but also other participants in this meeting.

I express my gratitude to our Chinese friends for their enormous support and assistance, especially when it comes to protecting the integrity of Serbia, he said.

Also thanks to the support of other friends in Interpol, we managed to prevent the self-proclaimed Kosovo from joining this body independently, he pointed out.

The Deputy Prime Minister once again thanked everyone in Interpol who recognised the justice of our struggle and expressed the hope that in the future we will succeed in winning together with our friends all the challenges that are ahead of us.

Serbia continues to be a symbol of security and the fight against organised crime and corruption, and we will continue to work in this direction in cooperation with other countries, Stefanovic concluded.
