Urbino Botelho and Ivica Dacic
Dacic highlighted the importance of marking 40 years of diplomatic relations, and the need to continue to strengthen friendly relations and bilateral cooperation.
He confirmed Serbia's commitment to preserving the traditional ties that exist with this country, and expressed gratitude for the decision to withdraw the recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the importance of preserving this principled position and invited Botelho to visit Serbia.
Botelho emphasized that he highly respects and appreciates the contribution that Yugoslavia had given to the development of his country, and confirmed that the government of Sao Tome and Principe pays great attention to Serbia and to the resolving of the issue of Kosovo through dialogue.
He underlined that Sao Tome and Principe remains firmly in the position of not recognizing the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, of not accepting any form of relations, and of supporting efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement with respect for international law and the UN Charter.
Botelho thanked Minister Dacic for the invitation to visit Serbia and in return invited him to visit Sao Tome and Principe.
