Development of overall cooperation with Israel

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke today with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Serbia Alona Fisher Kamm and pointed to the importance which Serbia attaches to cooperation with Israel.

Dacic also expressed Serbia’s interest in further development of bilateral relations and overall cooperation, while Fisher Kamm said that the relations of the two countries are good and friendly.
The two sides expressed interest and readiness to implement the initiative of the embassy of Israel to organise a series of academic and cultural events in Belgrade by the end of the current year, when the 100th anniversary of signing the Balfour Declaration is marked and the jubilee of 25 years of resumption of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Israel.
Speaking about the activities of Serbia regarding restitution and the keeping of memory of the Holocaust, Dacic highlighted the need for a joint activity of Serbia and Israel, as the home state of the Jewish people, in fighting the attempts at revising history, which are becoming increasingly prominent in the region of the Western Balkans.
The two officials confirmed interest in holding regular bilateral political consultations of the foreign ministries of the two countries in the coming period in order to discuss in more detail all topics of mutual interest.
