Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn visited today the works on the construction of the Zezelj bridge in Novi Sad, which will be completed by the end of November.
Mihajlovic said that this bridge is an example of cooperation of Serbia with the EU, but also an example of our country’s attitude to work.
According to her, the project of construction of the Zezelj Bridge is a message for all of us that we need and we can do much better and more, but also a message to the European Union that we can and must work together more.
Serbia is a key country in the region and I expect that we will have a much bigger and more important cooperation with the EU on various projects, Mihajlovic said.
Hahn said that this bridge will contribute to the strengthening of ties and economic cooperation between people from the two banks of the Danube and make a significant contribution to cooperation in the region.
The Zezelj bridge is a point that connects the two banks of the great river and the reasons for this European project are fully justifiable, he said and added that the total value of the project amounts to €53 million, of which the European Union has provided €34.5 million.
