Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with Director-General of the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of the National Commission for Development and Reform of China Wang Czenczun.

They spoke about Chinese investments in Serbia, including the project of modernisation and reconstruction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway.
Noting that the modernisation of this railway is of great importance for Serbia, Mihajlovic said that it was agreed to prepare all that is necessary so that the works on the Belgrade-Stara Pazova railway section could start in November.
We agreed to continue working on the signing of a commercial contract for the third section between Novi Sad and Subotica, the continuation of negotiations on the signing of a commercial contract for the section of Corridor 11 Preljina-Pozega and further talks on the Pozega-Boljare section in order to get connected with Montenegro, she explained.
Czenczun stressed that the project of modernisation of the Belgrade-Budapest railway has already given significant results in terms of signed contracts and agreements, and that at the “One Belt, One Road” summit in Beijing the leaders of China and Serbia confirmed the steps that had been completed and set goals for this year.
Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang said that today's meeting is another step towards the realisation of the agreements made during the visit of the then prime minister and current President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to Beijing.
