Air service to Venice for even closer ties with Italy

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today that the air service to Venice is an opportunity to bring Serbia closer to the Serbian diaspora in Italy, but also to Italian citizens, and to improve relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade, just before the first direct flight of "Air Serbia" to Venice, Mihajlovic said that this line will further contribute to the good cooperation with Italy, which is one of the key partners of Serbia in the European Union.
She recalled that the Italian companies have invested €1.3 billion in Serbia in the past 15 years and employ more than 27,000 people in our country.
Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo said that Veneto is one of the regions in Italy that has the closest relations with Serbia, because more than 55% of the Serbian diaspora lives there, which is more than 70,000 people.
