Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic stated today at an international conference on security issues held in Russia that hi-tech crime, after terrorism, is perhaps the greatest threat to global security.
Stefanovic said at the meeting whose theme this year is "The role of modern technologies in the international IT security and measures for its preservation," that in the connected cyberspace there are great opportunities for carrying out cyber attacks whose scope and intensity can be very high.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that information security is becoming a very important factor in international relations and that establishing a secure cyberspace is not possible without active participation of many actors.
All countries should cooperate and take proper steps to ensure an adequate level of information security, to get prepared for the defence from the attack and to raise citizens’ awareness about the risks, Stefanovic stated.
