Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) about the realisation of projects that the bank finances in Serbia in road and railway infrastructure, as well as about reforms in that area and the modernisation of rail roads.
Mihajlovic presented to her interlocutors the schedule of implementation of projects on the road and railway Corridor 10, the results of the reforms in the railway sector and the pace of modernisation of railways.
They also discussed the potential role of this bank in the privatisation or in public-private partnerships in Serbia.
Speaking about the corridors, she pointed out that Serbia, due to its geographical position, is the shortest route linking the east and west, and in this context infrastructure linking with the region and Europe is very important.
It is important to us that we are connected, that we have modern roads and railways, which is especially true for the railway Corridor 10, Mihajlovic said.
EBRD representatives congratulated the Serbian government on what they described as overall impressive performance, fiscal results and achieved economic growth.
