Further improvement of relations, cooperation between Serbia, Japan

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Mayor of the Japanese city of Hofu Masato Matsuura, who is also President of the Association of Mayors of Japan.
During the talks with the Japanese delegation, they expressed mutual satisfaction with the good bilateral relations between the two countries, which continues to go upwards, with a tendency of further improvement.
Dacic conveyed special thanks over the decision of the city Hofu to be the host city of the women's and men's volleyball team of Serbia on the eve of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
He expressed hope that the cooperation in the framework of preparation for the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 will be significantly improved, as well as gratitude for the offers of different cities in Japan to host our athletes.
The officials confirmed their readiness for further improvement of bilateral relations and cooperation between Serbia and Japan in the economic, cultural, education fields, as well as in other areas of common interest.
Matsuura expressed a wish for Hofu to twin with one of the cities in Serbia.
