Harsh condemnation of attacks on Christian churches in Egypt

Belgrade, 9 April 2017

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic sent a telegram of condolences to Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry over the terrorist attacks on Christian churches.

The attacks claimed lives of 43 people, and more than 100 were injured.

“We condemn in the harshest terms the terrorist attacks on innocent civilians on the Christian holiday of Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of the holy week prior to Easter.

We express solidarity with the Egyptian people and give support to the fight against terrorism as the greatest evil of modern timeˮ, reads the telegram of condolences.
