The official website of the Serbian government brings parts of the speech of Ivica Dacic on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the construction of apartments for refugees in Prokuplje within the framework of implementation of the Regional Housing Programme in Serbia:
"Distinguished guests,
Friends of the Regional Housing Programme,
Thank you for being here today and for continuously following and supporting our efforts to find and provide durable solutions for refugees who in the 1990s left their homes throughout the former Yugoslavia and who decided to stay in Serbia today.
To solve the problem of exile, cooperation of the countries of origin and acceptance is necessary as well willingness to find fair and sustainable solutions to any outstanding issues.
Those are the principles that led Serbia to solve the refugee issue, providing full support to the Sarajevo Process, which constitutes an inseparable part of the Regional Housing Programme.
Starting from the needs of refugees, the need for exercising and protecting their rights, we persisted in our efforts to keep alive the Sarajevo Process even at times when it seemed possible.
The reason for today's gathering is laying the foundation stone for the construction of 20 apartments for the beneficiaries of the Regional Housing Programme, which is a confirmation that we have made another important step in the implementation of the Programme," said Dacic.
