Strengthening cooperation between Serbia, Jordan in all fields

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic wished today a successful mandate to new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan Fawaz Al-Itan, who covers Serbia on the non-residential basis from Athens.

During the meeting, Dacic said that overall relations between Serbia and Jordan can be even better in all segments, and confirmed the readiness of Serbia to promote the political dialogue, economic relations and contractual regulations with Jordan.

Al-Eitan expressed his full agreement with this assessment, as well as the expectation that First will accept the invitation for participation in the Business Forum to be held in May 2017 in Jordan.

He informed the Deputy Prime Minister of the severity of the challenges that, without sufficient support from the international community, Jordan is faced with in receiving refugees from Syria, Palestine, Libya, Iraq and Yemen.

Al-Eitan pointed out that a fair, comprehensive and viable solution of the Palestinian issue on the principle of two states with borders from before 4 June 1967 is a prerequisite for a solution to this and all other burning issues of the Middle East.

The new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan today presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
