In open and detailed talks with representatives of Argentina, Barbados, Bahamas, Venezuela, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Jamaica, Colombia, Mexico, St. Lucia, Suriname, Chile and host Cuba, Dacic informed his interlocutors about the reform processes in the Republic of Serbia, the results of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the process of European integration of our country.
All interlocutors emphasised the importance of developing cooperation with the Republic of Serbia as the central country of the Western Balkans.
During the talks with Foreign Minister of Guatemala Carlos Morales Moscos, upcoming activities on the expansion of cooperation were agreed upon, which will result in a return visit of Minister Dacic to Guatemala.
The ministers briefed each other about the internal political and economic developments in the two countries, as well as about regional relations and cooperation in the Balkans and Central America and the Caribbean.
Head of the Delegation of Jamaica Marlene Malajo Forte, who is State Attorney, highlighted during the talks with Dacic the strong position of Jamaica and support to the principles of protection of territorial integrity and international law, as well as support of Jamaica to Serbia in its principled policy.
The State Attorney of Jamaica pointed to the importance of avoiding precedents with unilateral moves that lead to the violation of basic principles of international relations. She also supported the further improvement and deepening of bilateral political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Dacic underlined that cooperation on the multilateral level is very meaningful, that political relations are very good, but it is necessary to give impetus to the promotion of economic cooperation, as well as to cooperation in the fields of culture, education and sports.
The First Deputy Prime Minister met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic in charge of international economic and development cooperation Hugo Francisco Riviera Fernandez.
The two officials estimated that there are great opportunities for development and improvement of bilateral, political and economic ties.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic proposed to organise meetings of businessmen of the two countries and to sign intergovernmental agreements for the development of economic cooperation, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
