Yildirim stressed that Turkey supports reforms that are being implemented by the Serbian government and pointed out that economic cooperation has a special place in the relations between the two countries and that its scope should grow each year and include more industries.
He confirmed that the Turkish government will support all development and infrastructure projects that are in the interest of both countries, primarily the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway, which will be jointly carried out by Serbia, Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Ljajic expressed his satisfaction with the progress in the negotiations on the extension of the scope of exchange of goods and services that will be included in the free trade regime between Serbia and Turkey, and voice hope that this agreement will be signed by June at the latest.
He asked from the government in Ankara to enable the quota for duty-free export of meat from Serbia to Turkey, which would largely contribute to the trade between the two countries exceeding €1 billion this year.
Ljajic also met today with Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and with Minister of Agriculture, Food and Livestock Faruk Celik.
During the meeting with Turkish officials he said that the reconstruction of the Kalemegdan and Rama fortresses will begin this year with funds from the Turkish development agency TIKA.
