Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Dacic said that he had visited Slovenia dozens of times over the last twenty years, as Minister of the Interior, Prime Minister and now as Foreign Minister.
He pointed out that in recent years there has been great progress in political relations between Serbia and Slovenia, and that the level of cooperation has been raised, which is confirmed by very frequent bilateral meetings.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the practice of joint sessions of the two governments has been established and that they are held every year, and announced that the next session will be in Slovenia.
Dacic also pointed to the very good communication between top officials of the two countries – prime ministers of Serbia and Slovenia Aleksandar Vucic and Miro Cerar respetively, and himself and Minister Karl Erjavec.
It is important to underline that we will support each other wherever we can. Serbia is not a member of the EU yet, but we will always be positive towards proposals and positions of Slovenia, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
Dacic pointed out that there is sympathy between the people of Serbia and Slovenia, that there are no disputes over any important issues and that should be used for the development of relations between the two countries in political, economic, cultural and every other sense.
Our policy is a policy of cooperation and seeking common solutions, he underlined and noted that economic cooperation could be improved.
