Speaking at a press conference after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Democratic Republic of Congo Leonard She Okitundu, he stressed that president of this African country is this year expected to visit Belgrade.
He recalled that the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic awarded the President of Congo, noting that the decoration will be delivered during his visit to the Serbian capital.
Economic cooperation with Congo could be better and there is a possibility to work together, the Deputy Prime Minister said and stressed the friendly ties between the two countries.
He recalled that many reputable companies from Serbia worked in Congo, noting that our country has awarded 14 scholarships to students from this African country.
Okitundu said that Congo is interested in reaching an agreement on forming a mixed commission to cooperation between the two countries in various fields, which could be signed during the visit of the President of Congo to Serbia.
He said that possible areas of cooperation are energy, health, defence, economy, education, technology and science.
On the international scene, Serbia and Congo must harmonise their views and should insist on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country, the Deputy Prime Minister of Congo concluded.
